Expansion offshore forges steadily ahead – federal government inhibiting further momentum
Offshore wind power: New offshore wind turbines with a total capacity of 818 megawatts went online in 2016. The industry views this expansion as positive and expects that, combined with optimised turbine technology and operating concepts, this will also lead to cost reduction in the forthcoming tendering processes in Germany. This momentum will however be upset by the reduced expansion targets after 2020 that are part of the 2017 Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG). These reduced expansion targets will also lead to a number of missed opportunities for the industry.
Leading trade fair EnergyDecentral strengthens its positioning and focuses on the current topics
18.11.2016 With a stronger international character and new formats such as combined heat and power plant servicing, the EnergyDecentral exhibition confirmed its position as the leading trade fair for decentralized energy supply beyond biogas production. As the first specialist trade fair, EnergyDecentral offers information about the possible effects of the upcoming legislation for engine-powered generating plants.
VDMA: Decentralized energy supply – one of the keys to the energy turnaround
14.11.2016 Germany’s climate goals cannot be realized without the great potential for savings that decentralized power and heat generation offer in industry, trade and agriculture.
VDMA: From Energy Transition to the World Market
28.09.2016 Germany’s wind industry is innovative and globally competitive. Another reason for its strong position in the world market is the dynamism of the German and European markets and the fair competition in all regions. The energy transition can then be transported worldwide.
Wind Industry Guide 2017
11.10.2016 The 7th edition of the VDMA “Wind Industry Guide 2017 – Components, Systems and Manufacturing Technology”, published by the WG Wind Industry, provides an excellent overview of the diversity of the sector, while also reflecting the many facets of the industrial value chain.
New Flyer - Wind Industry Safety Culture
26.09.2016 The Working Group Wind Industry Safety Culture has expanded the Seven Safety Principals and the Best Practice Guidelines of Safe Driving, Working at Height and Personal Protective Equipment by the new Safety Ethics as well as Best Practice Guidelines for Civil Works, Electric Safety and Dropped Objects.
Wind Energy Lowers Cost Significantly
14.12.2015 The average costs of electricity from wind turbines is now by 12 percent cheaper than four years ago. Main reasons are a cost-effective and optimized turbine technology as well as the currently low financing costs. The interest rates and a new rule in the Renewable Energy Act 2014 (EEG, cp. § 24) for suspending the remuneration for negative electricity prices involve a cost risk.
Energy is the leading global trade show for integrated energy systems and mobility. Smart grids, virtual power plants, renewable energies: new ideas and solutions for tomorrow's energy supply are presented at the world's biggest energy fair running April 24th to 28th 2017 .
EnergyDecentral is the leading trade fair for decentralized power supply through engines, biogas and solid fuels.
Review on WindEnergy Hamburg 2016: EXpo was even more international. VDMA joined in with own events, speakers and a new booth.
